The band:

Louie Reckless

Location:
Albany, NY

How long have you been playing:

8 Years

Website:

http://www.louiereckless.com

Artist Bio:

Louie Reckless is a singer/songwriter from Albany, New York. For the past four years Louie Reckless has been performing in clubs and colleges throughout the Northeast. Some of these dates include warm-ups for “the David Lee Roth Band” and the “The Erotics.”

Sound best described as:

Some say it’s a cross between “Guns N’ Roses,” “Aerosmith,” and “The Killers.”

Influences:

The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Gun N’ Roses, Early Elton John, and the rest on through right up to The Killers, Oasis, and OkGo.

Ultimate goal as a musician:

I have a profound appreciation for music. I feel gypped a lot of the time because bands like The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and the Doors are gone. You don’t see bands that capture that diverse audience anymore. If nothing else, my ultimate goal is to make
music that emulates the pride those musicians had for their music. I want to be proud of my craft. I don’t want to make music that conforms to what people expect. I don’t want my music to be categorized. I want it to be listened to.

Best Gig:

Opening up for “The David Lee Roth Band”

Worst Gig:

Playing out at any place that has a bad PA.

Dream tour:

Playing with the Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, and Guns N’ Roses.

What sets you band apart from other musicians of today?

Geez I don’t know. Who thinks about that?

When you write, what comes first, the lyrics or the music?

Lyrics first . . that’s just the way I do it.

What are your thoughts on the current music industry?:

From what I hear at bars, shows, and demos that come my way, the industry should be overflowing with Indie-rock. It’s just time.

MySpace-blessing or curse?:

I think it’s a blessing. I love having it to share my music, but also listening to other bands trying to get where they’re headed is rewarding as well.

Message to your fans:

Thank you so much!
