This band hailing from Thousand Oaks, CA describes themselves as “a bridge between rock, punk, and metal.” I think that’s a pretty accurate description.  When I first listened to this cd from start to finish, the first thing I thought was how parts of certain songs took me back to the days when metal and anthem rock ruled.  It’s refreshing to hear a “new” band that’s not afraid to dig into that bag of tricks and pay homage to metal bands that blazed the past before them.

The songs give you a little bit of everything as far as sound goes. It’s like putting my Ipod on shuffle and never getting bored. They lend diversity to each track by mixing up the vocal styles and the guitar stylings.  Some of them start off with melodic riffs then quickly break into agressive crunchy guitars and angry vocals while others start off balladesque and by the end of the song the top is down on your car and your rockin out the devil horns.  The lyrics cover everything from relationships lost and found to the proverbially snow in California.

As far as particular songs “Hey Italy” is very “Panic At The Disco” to me while “I Told You So” reminds me of VAIN (For any of you who remember them.) So, to sum it up, the sound is a tough one to define.

The first single is “Our Revolution,” and for once, I’d have to agree with the suits.  This song is not only one of the catchiest tracks on the disc, it pretty much begs for a party to surround it.  It could probably be followed up nicely by “Anthem For Tonight” which follows in the same vein with a cool breakdown midsong that they even sing you through.

“Such A Terrible Trend” is their lighter song.

If you think the band name sounds familiar, you may have seen them scraping their way to to the top on Warped Tour in the past.  They also made a cameo appearance on MTV’s Real World Austin when they were at South By SouthWest Musical Festival.

The band is currently on tour, I’m looking forward to checking them out, you should too!
