Band Bio:
And out of the city they climb..
The name Still Standing represents a band, but it also serves as validation to this punk rock trio out of Philadelphia. When Hardship and tribulation take course, rather than admitting defeat, Still Standing channels their vulnerability into music to create indestructible songs. When twins Justin and Johnny were 14 years old their life was turned upside down when their father, Seminal guitarist Tony Santoro, died. The years to come were turbulent; the boys moved to a new neighborhood and consequently found themselves in the middle of fights and often had to rely on their fists just to carry on. Moving around was not much of an enjoyable childhood for them. After an excessive downward spiral the twins realized that they had only each other to depend on and a basement full of their father’s guitars. They taught each other how to play and later found their purpose in music. The brothers began writing songs and playing with other musicians in order to create the right combination for a band. Finally, in 1998 drummer Alex Z. stepped in and Still Standing was formed. The band has developed a strong fan base by playing any gig that they possibly could. They’re growing it the old fashioned way, one delirious teenager at a time. The band found themselves at the center of a growing punk rock scene in Philadelphia. Their hard work was realized when they played a private show with their mates Sugarcult and sent 350 kids into rapture. Everything was moving along at full tilt until the band met adversity yet again. One night, before a gig, the band came out to their van to find that it had been broken into and that all of their gear had been ripped off . The band felt beaten, but rather than accepting ruin, they chose to borrow instruments and honor their booked performances, eventually earning enough money to replace their gear. Again, the band prevailed…
A break came their way when they were given an opportunity to record with producer Tommy Henriksen in Los Angeles. They scraped money together, made their way to LA and slept on floors during the night. The outcome was beyond everyone’s expectations when their latest EP was completed. The collection of songs expresses defiance through masterful song writing and musicianship. Still Standing are three kids who play loud music and wear their hearts on their sleeves. They regret nothing and apologize for even less.

MySpace - Blessing or a Curse?
Myspace is by far a blessing for bands. It is so much easier for kids to be introduced to your music and you get a way better response with promoting. Especially for shows. We still go out and flyer all of the time but with myspace you dont have to watch people throw the flyer on the ground.
