I have to admit I was not the biggest Creed fan in the world.  It was a siuation where I thought the band rocked, but I didn’t like the singer.  I can’t explain why but I just thought Scott Stapp tried too hard to communicate with his audience and he came across as a tool.  His personal life seems to have replicated this sentiment as well.

But I must say that Myles Kennedy is the anti-Stapp!!  What a killer voice with an unreal range.  He really carries this album from great with songs like “Ties That Bind” and “Rise Today” (which is also the first single) to the amazing with “Come To Life” and especially “Before Tomorrow Comes” which just has a killer riff and chorus.  Top notch songwriting here rock fans; gritty and intense, but still has that classic rock feel- which for me makes all the difference from other bands of late that I have heard.

Mr. Mark Tremonti take a bow bro!!!  Amazing guitar sound throughout this disc.  Very much in the Zakk Wylde category of over the top riffs with tons of power cords.  He never lets down for a moment here folks, trust me this guy is the real deal.

Kudos also to Brian Marshall who plays a very heavy bass throughout and Scott Phillips who I thought was one of the better parts of Creed, especially those video rain drum parts!!  These guys keep the rhythm section alive especially on “Wayward One” & “Break Me Down” - NICE!!

Second albums are crucial to the overall long term success of a band.  I think Blackbird proves that Alter Bridge will last longer and rock harder than Creed ever dreamed of.  Having Paul Geary guide you as a manager will certainly not hurt your chances.
